Jwan Abdo
Jwan Abdo was born in Aleppo in 1996. After the war in Syria, Jwan came to Istanbul. He started working in filmmaking. He worked in many short films and in the documentary "The Boy with a Camera", which was based on his life story. The film was shown at several festivals and received several awards. In 2017 Jwan received asylum in Germany and continued to make films. He directed the film "Parallel" for which he received a special mention from the Swiss Bern Festival. The film was shown in several cinemas and film festivals. In 2021 he directed the film “Memory Mirrors” in Berlin.
Jwan Abdo wurde 1996 in Aleppo geboren. Nach dem Krieg in Syrien kam Jwan nach Istanbul. Er begann im Filmemachen zu arbeiten. Er arbeitete in vielen Kurzfilmen und in dem Dokumentarfilm "Der Junge mit Kamera", der auf seiner Lebensgeschichte basierte. Der Film wurde auf mehreren Festivals gezeigt und erhielt einige Auszeichnungen. 2017 erhielt Jwan Asyl in Deutschland und drehte weiter Filme. Er führte Regie bei dem Film "Parallel" und erhielt dafür eine besondere Erwähnung vom Swiss Bern Festival. Der Film wurde in mehreren Kinos und Filmfestivals gezeigt. 2021 führte er in Berlin bei dem Film „Memory Mirrors“ Regie.
